Joanna Furnace (15 minutes)
19th century charcoal fired iron furnace. Originally started in 1791 and continued operations until 1898. Living history museum with special events throughout the year. 610-286-0388
Hopewell Furnace National Historical Site (30 minutes)
One of the finest examples of a rural American 19th century iron plantation. Founded in 1771 and operated until 1883. 14 restored structures. Guided tours, special events, nature trail. 610-582-8773
Springton Manor Farm (15 minutes)
300 acres in agricultural use since the early 1700’s. Demonstration farm with animals, interpretive nature trail, butterfly house and catch and release fishing pond. 610-942-2450
Ephrata Cloister (20 minutes)
One of America’s earliest religious communities. Founded in 1732 by German settlers seeking spiritual goals rather than earthly rewards. Gathered in unique European style buildings, the community consisted of celibate Brothers and Sisters and a married congregation of families. Guided tours, special events. 717-733-6600
Daniel Boone Homestead (35 minutes)
Daniel Boone was born here in 1734 and spent his first 16 years here before his family migrated to North Carolina. Guided tours of the home and 6 other 18th century structures, hiking, picnicking, fishing, and a sensory trail for the visually impaired. 610-582-4900
Yellow Springs (40 minutes)

Mill at Anselma (40 minutes)

Landis Valley Farm Museum (40 minutes)
